Green Roost

You may remember seeing this shop on my blog last year! It’s special to me since their brick-and-mortar store is in the same town where my mom owned a sewing machine store for over a decade. I did much of my growing up in Culpeper, VA, and I wish we had the Green Roost around when I was a kid :D

Reasons to Love Green Roost

Conscious Products for the Entire Family: I love it when a store can incorporate baby to papa! It’s a great space to go to when shopping for gifts since you can easily check everyone off your list in one go. Green Roost shows you can make conscious choices when purchasing gifts for others and not have to sacrifice quality or style.

Easy to Shop via Social Media: For most of us, Instagram is our primary source of information regarding ethical and eco-friendly products. Why not shop directly from there? With Green Roost’s Instagram, products are uploaded daily in their stories; all you have to do is send a DM to start the purchase. They receive many new products throughout the week, and not everything makes it to their website. Instagram gives you that first chance to snag it!

Brick-and-Mortar for Virginia: It is refreshing to actually visit an eco-conscious store. For anyone in the VA area, I highly suggest you visit Culpeper and see their little downtown.

What We’re Using

Leather Phone Wallet: I may live on the edge, but I prefer to use my phone without a case. This wallet is perfect because it can protect my phone while in my handbag, but I can still use it case-free. This leather is also dyed using a more eco-friendly technique and avoids the usual harsh chemicals found with most leather goods.

Cotton & Wax Soy Candle: When will the internet let you smell things?! This eucalyptus candle smells fantastic. Plus, 10% of the profits are donated to support animal rescue.

Artisan Soap Bar: Whenever I have guests over, I love opening a new bar of soap and lighting a candle in the bathroom. I got to do this last night when a lot of my family came over for dinner! Everyone appreciates a brand-new bar of soap - and hey, no plastic!! :D

Bamboo Onesie: Milkbarn makes the SOFTEST onesies I’ve ever felt, and their mission makes their product even better. Through Exile International, Milkbarn can bring restoration to rescued child soldiers and children orphaned by war in DR Congo and Uganda. This program empowers them through art therapy and holistic, rehabilitative care to become peace leaders.

P.S.. remember this blanket?

Where to Shop

Like I mentioned before, the best place to shop all things Green Roost is through their Instagram—here. They also have their website and a brick-and-mortar location in Culpeper, VA.
